This past weekend I attended the inaugural Diner En Blanc Baltimore and had an amazing time! I originally planned to attend DEB with friends but once they received all the details of what the event entailed; they were no longer interested. Although, I would have loved to experience the event with them, I was happy they made that decision. In order to enjoy DEB you have to understand, embrace, and love the concept. To learn about the history of DEB click here.

When my friends bailed I could not think of a more perfect DEB partner than my mom. She loves hosting and planning events and was super excited when I extended the invitation to be my guest.

I originally planned to write a full review on DEB, however, I was not expecting an overwhelming amount of opinions of the event on social media. Honestly, I am tired of reading them and I am sure you all are as well. LOL! To sum up my experience, I had a FABULOUS time! It was everything I expected it to be. I was enamored with the sea of white, decadent table settings, and mystique of how the night would unveil. As with any inaugural event, there was room for improvement. However, those things are relatively minor and will not prevent me from attending in the future. If you have any specific questions regarding DEB please feel free to contact me here.

Mom and I were the perfect team. We split the duties of planning and preparing for DEB. Mom handled the logistics regarding the table and decor. I coordinated our meal.

Mom bought all of the dishware including the vase from Home Goods. The rose lights, napkin rings, and chair covers were purchased from Amazon (click the above photos to expand). Blame me for the "dead-ish" flowers but I love them! Is that weird? I think when flowers start to die they are romantic and vintage. When Mom saw them she said, "Ashley what is up with these flowers?? I knew I should have handled the flowers!" LOL.

One thing I quickly learned at DEB is that I am not a food photographer. I did not capture beautiful photos of our entire meal but the menu consisted of a house salad, fruit/cheese tray, crab cakes with rice and broccoli, and cupcakes and banana pudding for dessert.

The meal portion of DEB was très chic, however, the entertainment segment is where the event came alive.

The first thing Mom and I individually planned were our outfits. Although we did not intentionally plan to both wear lace, our outfits complimented one another nicely.

My favorite part of my outfit was the flower crown. I purchased all items for the flower crown from Michael's. See the contents below. My aunt was my saving grace with this DIY. I was running behind schedule and could not execute the crown. My aunt was able to put it together in 30 minutes. We could not locate the glue gun so the entire crown is glueless and the flowers are wrapped around the plastic headband. The only thing not pictured that is needed to replicate this look are wire cutters.
